Light, birth of our creation, stay cradled 

forever in the cage of our ribs, so that when 
we lose heart, you give us clairvoyance;
Light, first to embrace the new born child,

guide us on our life journey, so that the dark
roads we encounter do not engulf us;

Light, most inspiring essence of all, nourish
our hearts with your purity, so that the only
blindness we will know is that of love;

Light, essential element of life, travel from 
east to west and from north to south, so 
that all mankind benefit from your 
gaiety and your wisdom; 

Light, majesty of the universe, teach us all 
your infinite knowledge, so that humankind
is able talk in the same tongue;

Light, survivor throughout the ages of time
shine upon us always, so that even in darkness, 
our souls will not be dimmed;
