The earth's axis tilts toward the sun
shifting the sunrise furthest away from the sunset
'Tis the rehearsal of the March equinox
the very instant of time when the sun glides across
the celestial equator - flooding light upon the
prolonged hours that mark the first day of spring;
Poetry 'sprouts' from the fertile ground and
once again the earth laughs in a splendour of colours;
Blossom of tulips, lilies of the valley, pansies
of the deepest purple, king cups of Irises, awakening
lilacs, sparkling dandelions, clusters of
Muscari hug the ground beneath - from where
the bright yellow daffodils rise;
And the blue heavens look down upon the 'stars' of
the earth in a sigh of wonderment;
Persephone, daughter of Demeter and Goddess
of nature & fertility has indeed descended on
earth to tend to the soil that nourish her crop and
flowers; Rejoice my fellowmen! for the sweet
laughing Spring has come to renew our spirit and
make light our hearts...
