The Night Visitor...

Somewhere between vivid reality and profound sleep, her frail
body trembled uncontrollably as she broke out in a cold sweat;
Somewhere between sleep and awakening, profound sadness
gained her wholly, while a film of horror reeled before her very eyes;

Somewhere between darkness and twilight, she felt the taste of her
salted tears, as a vague of weariness overwhelmed her;
Somewhere between the door of consciousness and dusk, a sharp
echo of sorrow pierced her within, as she listened helplessly to the
child in her sob;

Somewhere between the emerging new day and the reminder of a
nightmare, her body wrestled fiercely to rescue herself from the
determined hold of her night visitor;
Somewhere between awakening and the haunting shadows of a
distraught night, she struggled to open her eyes as she recalled the
mysteries of sleep that had revealed her deepest fears,

Somewhere between the reality of morning light and the veiled cloud
of confusion, she sat upright shaking her head vigorously, in attempt
to shrug the feeling of dread that clung to her in reminder of the
phantoms that had danced in her night space;

Somewhere in a faraway land across the oceans, as morning turned
to bright daylight she swam fearlessly and in graceful strokes, far out
into the wide sea of a delightful blue, leaving behind her the night
visitor who was but only the reflection of her very own fears;

Let our dreams be larger than our fears, Man must strive for that......
