She is the cradle of mankind and dwells in the enclave of the
Earth, where her heart beats in even rhythm & tranquillity; Like limpid waters of a mountain stream flowing quietly in
reflect of her steady wisdom, revealing secrets of an ancient
civilisation that came to be, right before her eyes;
She is humility & compassion and her beauty is beyond all
external form and sometimes silence is her only voice, she
wears the cloak of serenity & her inner essence radiates the
entire earth, even as many trials continue to challenge her;
She is the sky and the light, the earth and the very root of
humanity, she is unique and singular and she possesses all
earthly riches, her red soil was blessed with treasures and
abundance, for it was upon her that wealth was destined;
She is of astounding beauty in the light of the first sun rays
of day, she's the break of dawn, the unique sunset, and she
possesses the riches of human culture, she is love and was
destined to carry the world in her heart like a Mother even
as she bleeds & weeps - her forefathers named her Africa;
Long before her primal cry, there was only darkness and
when she took her first breath, the stars, sun & the moon
came to be; Thunder & Lightening were the first to dwell
in her land before she banished them from her territory &
sent them back to the high heavens from where they still poem written by Wajia-Patricia Bühl
rebuke in loud rumbling, every now & again...
