She Carries The World In Her Heart...

She pervaded the whole of creation and lives on southern
soils from where she follows the path of her ancestors who                                                                                 Where light & beauty meet...
taught her to walk like them, tall & brave - hence her name
 Africa...

She is the cradle of mankind and dwells in the enclave of the
Earth, where her heart beats in even rhythm & tranquillity; Like limpid waters of a mountain stream flowing quietly in
reflect of her steady wisdom, revealing secrets of an ancient
civilisation that came to be, right before her eyes;

She is humility & compassion and her beauty is beyond all
external form and sometimes silence is her only voice, she
wears the cloak of serenity & her inner essence radiates the
entire earth, even as many trials continue to challenge her;

She is the sky and the light, the earth and the very root of
humanity, she is unique and singular and she possesses all
earthly riches, her red soil was blessed with treasures and
abundance, for it was upon her that wealth was destined;

She is of astounding beauty in the light of the first sun rays
of day, she's the break of dawn, the unique sunset, and she
possesses the riches of human culture, she is love and was
destined to carry the world in her heart like a Mother even
as she bleeds & weeps  -  her forefathers named her Africa;

Long before her primal cry, there was only darkness and
when she took her first breath, the stars, sun & the moon
came to be; Thunder & Lightening were the first to dwell
in her land before she banished them from her territory &
sent them back to the high heavens from where they still                                                                       poem written by Wajia-Patricia Bühl
rebuke in loud rumbling, every now & again...

Whispers Of A Thousand Dreams...

                                                                                                                                                                              ..lay laughing upon the sands of golden dunes
I made a wish in soft whisper that only the rainbow heard and as if
in magical response, she splashed her dazzling and multi coloured
stripes across the giant sky, beholding my eyes in awe and promise,
then vanished into the depth of the heavens...

I made a wish in soft whisper that only the twinkling stars heard in the
stillness of the night;  And as the veil of darkness proclaimed the silent
night, the stars winked their sparkling eyes at me in a thousand  shiny
promises...

I made a wish in soft whisper that only the trees heard in the quiet  of
the forest, and as I paved my way through their paradise so green, they
bend to caress my face in gentle tenderness & rekindled my heart as if in renewing my spirit...

I made a wish in silent whisper that only the flowing river heard, and
as I threw a pebble upon it's waters & watched it bounce playfully on
the ripples, I heard the waters hearty laugh as they pursued their long
journey to the great seas...

I made a wish in soft whisper that only the setting sun heard as she

bathed the mountain tops; She glanced at me in bold light one last
time before bidding good night, with promises of morning - where
once again, she would rise from the east...

I made a wish in soft whisper
on a cold night in the nakedness of the
desert, that only the whistling winds heard; And now my wishes lay
laughing upon the sands of golden dunes, looking upward once again
at the flamboyant coloured stripes dancing in the heavenly skies...

I Awoke Upon A dream...

I awoke upon a dream on the day that summer was born, far
faraway in lands of exhilaration & colours so gay, of painted
heavens in the deepest blue and dazzling colours of pink;

I awoke upon a dream on the day that summer was born, in
faraway and exhilarating lands where the wind never howls
in solitary tear and where the quarrels of Man are tamed; In
a land where soft spoken voices share beautiful tales & spills
of laughter ripple through the air in hearty lyrics of exalting
symphonies, each in harmonious tune with the other;

I awoke upon a dream on the day that summer was born, far
far away in lands of exhilaration where the soft warm breeze
shifts in gentle caress over the vast fields ever green, while the
sun flirts in naughty entice, with the laughing daffodils;

I awoke upon a dream on the day that summer was born, in
faraway and exhilarating lands where dark shadows & their
phantoms, are kept at bay and where fear & nightmares are
conquered. In lands of unspeakable beauty where the Gods &
Goddesses of 'light' have been dwelling long before the dawn
of civilisation;

I awoke upon a dream on the day that summer was born, far
far away in lands of exhilaration and magical stars so bright,
with timeless fountains everywhere, spouting crystal clear
waters where mermaids bathe and blooming wild daisies in
sparkling white dress, nod their heads in greeting;

Of such beauty my eyes had never seen and of such elating
joy my heart had never felt...

Dwell Not In Empty Fields...

                                                                                                                                                                             Look to morning with colours in your heart...

Even when stars do not reach the eye in twinkle, know that they await in
silence for the darkness to swallow the sun, before exploding into a billion
tiny lanterns across the sky & in awaiting their splendour, sing the songs of
Love for there is none of more greatness...

Even when thick fog looms, choking the air and dimming nature's beauty,
make space for the sun in the home of your heart & in awaiting the mist to
lift, sing together with the sun the songs of Light, for there is none of more
greatness...

Even as the hungry predator swoops down on his prey, walk not in bare
fields but seek to safe shelters & in awaiting eagles that prowl high above,
to evacuate the sky's territory, sing the songs of Peace for there is none of
more greatness...

Even at sunset when flowers fold their petals in bidding goodnight, look to
morning with colours in your heart & in awaiting slumber, sing the songs
of colourful Dream for there is none of more greatness...

Even at harvest when fields are dry & bare of crop to reap, look up to the
heavens and plead for the clouds to burst open their 'heart' & in awaiting
the rain, sing the songs of Hope for there is none of more greatness...

Even when forced to preach in tongues of others, fear not be thyself and
stand your ground, speak out only that of the heart, keep dark shadows at
bay & sing the songs of Truth for there is none of more greatness...
                                                                                                                                                                        'Let man return to source & reconcile with greatness'

Sweet Surrender In Light Of Beauty...

Sunflowers so carefree and gay, walk me in your fields so vast and
wide, where golden-yellow heads reach upwardly to kiss the sun;
Sunflowers so becoming and friendly, fill my soul with smiles & hearty
laughter and take me in your 'petalled' arms in sway of happy dance;

Rainbow so mystical and rare, show me the fluorescent colours of
your face and fill my eyes with your beauty, so unique and magical;
Rainbow so mystical & rare, let me gaze at you in quiet wonderment
and make a silent wish upon your bright coloured stripes so heavenly
displayed across the sky;

Rose petals so fresh & beautiful, wrap me in the silk of your soft sheets
and fill my lungs with breath of your sweet fragrance; Rose petals so
fresh & beautiful, bathe me in the scented waters of your perfume and
paint my soul with your colours so lively & vibrant;

Birds so beautiful of feathers and bosom so bright in colour, come sit
upon my window sill at morning rise and chant to me your melodies;
Birds so beautiful of feathers and bosom so bright in colour, carry me
on your wings when slumber calls and fly me to faraway lands where
dream and beauty meet;

Stars of the kingdom of the comets so beautiful, a million shimmers in

the sky, let your sparkles take me in bewilderment & kindle my heart;
Stars of the kingdom of the comets so beautiful, shower me and all my
brethren with your amazing glow and remember to come back from
time to time, in offering your spectacular splendour to the entire earth
and its inhabitants...

A Song In My Heart...

The wild rose that blossomed in the nearby Prairie,
could it have been you in the fragrance of your perfume...

The bright and clear full moon that lit the entire earth,
could it have been you glowing in silent message...

The bird I heard twittering on a bright summer's day,
could it have been you with a song in your heart...

The star that shone brightly in the dark of the night,
could it have been you, sparkling through your eyes...

The sweet melodies that echoed in the south wind,
could it have been you carrying a verse in your heart...

The gentle raindrops I heard pattering on the rooftop,
could it have been you, humming a lullaby in soft voice...

The magnificent rainbow that splashed across the sky,
could it have been you flashing your beautiful smile...

The flower petals that lay scattered on the pathway,
could it have been your footprint leading to my door..

The sound of the river gushing in the far distance,
could it have been you rekindling a surge of joy in my soul...

My heart is light with memories of you....

Majestic Tree So Beautiful...

Majestic tree so beautiful, branches far and widely spread, tell us of
the many quarrels of man who came together beneath your shade in
reconcile while your leaves looked on and danced in hearty cheer;

Majestic tree so beautiful, branches far and widely spread, tell us
about the passionate youth who came to speak & spit their revolt,
while perched on your branches, legs dangling loosely from above;

Majestic tree so beautiful, branches far and widely spread, tell us
about the troubled and tormented hearts who came to hug your
mighty trunk in hope of drawing strength of mind and spirit;

Majestic tree so beautiful, branches far and widely spread, tell us of
those who came to seek your friendly shelter, for home and warmth
of bed were dwelling places that they had never known;

Majestic tree so beautiful, branches far and widely spread, tell us
about the lovers you saw, who came to kiss in youthful passion &
in hide behind your leafy branches so thick;

Majestic tree so beautiful, branches far and widely spread, tell us of
the children's laughter you heard and still echoing in the wind that
brushes through your leaves;

Majestic tree so beautiful, branches far and widely spread, tell us
about the fathers of our father and their stories of life and labour,
written in the deep cracks of your bark;

Majestic tree of infinite knowledge & beauty, guard our tales of life
deep within thy core, for someday the children of our children shall
come to seek you in tongues of question about the whispers of their
ancestors...

Graceful Rebounds...

                                                                                                                                                                                               like a morning prayer...

                                            When life constraints...
                            dream of wide spread fields blooming with
                yellow daffodils dancing in the gentle summer breeze;
                                            When sorrow bewails...
                        walk down memory lane, where happiness
                    lives on, and spills of laughter echo in the wind;
                                             When worry burdens...
                           sit at ocean's edge, to listen to the crashing
                       of the waves and sink into the soft white sands;
                                             When doubt torments...
                             watch the colourful rainbow in boastful
                  display across the giant sky, and in perfect clarity;                                                                             When hope dims...
                         take in the promising light from the beautiful
              sunrise, gently awakening above the horizon to the east;
                                              When tears flow...
                   welcome release, like the appeasing calm that fills
           the air, after the raging storm has washed away the dust;
                                               When fear overshadows...
                              journey toward the sun, and leave dark
                   shadows behind, in welcome to bright new light;
                                               When faith abandons...
           contemplate the beauty of the earth and draw strength from
mother nature in the innermost diversity of her resourceful treasures;

Delightful Reminiscence...

Memories of a lifetime determinedly traced on my
subconsciousness, replay their magic moments
one more time...

An endless sky explodes into a billion glittering stars
catching us in gasps of  bewilderment,  just like they
had done in the far past;

One last time, we recreate a world of another dimension
somewhere up above, as we name and count the stars as
far as we can, just like we had done in the far past;

Like a very beautiful and touching film that had
reeled away much too quickly;

And now...

They have left and journeyed on the wings of unknown
beautiful angels, to a world of another dimension, some
where up above;

Where the magnificent light of the stars will shine on for
ever and offer the earth It's spectacular splendour from
time to time;

And every once in a while I shall search the wide skies for
a 'sign' from the beloved, by the wink of a falling star...

A poem that I hold close to my heart

A poem that I hold close to my heart...

                                 - D E S I D E R T A -

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace
there may be in silence. As far as possible , without surrender, be
on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly,
and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant, they too have their
story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the
spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or
bitter, for always there will be greater and less persons than yourself.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of

trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is,
many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full
of heroism. Be yourself, especially do not feign affection. Neither
be cynical about love for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.

Nature strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not

distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue
and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars, you
have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt
the universe is unfolding as it should.

And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of

life, keep peace in your soul. With all it's sham, drudgery, and broken
dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.......

Ten Wishes...

                                                            Of
                  Love and compassion to be forever our companions
                                            till the end of time;
                        Flooding light forever on our path to guide
                                             us at every turn of
                                                   our journey;
                               Good wind of peace and well-being,
                                              bringing us relief
                                                      each day;
                                 Lightness of spirit and joy, like a
                                       whirlwind of  symphonies
                                             of the most beautiful
                                                            kind;

 That candles burning in our homes continue to glow in hearty warmth;

                                                            That
                                         starry nights continue to
                            inspire us & nourish our wildest dreams;
                                                     That glimmer
                                            of hope knocks on every
                       door at the break of each and every morning;
                                         That happiness of children's
                 laughter remind us that the best things in life are free;
                                      That hearty laughter of precious
                 moments we share with others bring us contentment;
                              That kindness of a warm smile exchanged
 with stranger on the street, bring us  comfort and a sense of belonging;
